To grind:
1/4 tsp fenugreek
2 pods garlic
1 big onion saute
1 tbsp coriander seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
1/4 turmeric powder
6 red chillies
1 green chilli
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1/4 cup tamarind pulp
1&1/2 cup grated coconut
2 tbsp oil
Curry leaves
Method
- In a kadai heat oil, add fenugreek, ajwain, chopped garlic, chopped onion and saute.
- Add coriander seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, red chillies and saute for 5 mnts.
- Add grated coconut, turmeric powder, green chilli, ginger garlic paste and tamarind pulp.
- Grind everything together.
- In a wok, heat 2 tbsp oil add mustard seeds, curry leaves, onion and saute till golden brown.
- Add the ground paste and cook for 3 to 4 mnts.
- Add 1 cup water and salt and when it boils, add fish to the gravy and cook till done.
